Dec, 2002: A Baby African Elephant named "Twoo" at Amboseli
National Park in Kenya, Africa:
 |
In honor of Theresa's birthday Tilly's calf has been named by Cynthia Moss
as "Twoo." Twoo is a very remarkable calf because her mother died
(probably killed by poachers) when Twoo was only 18 months old, making her
the youngest orphan in Amboseli to survive. She is being taken care of by
her older sister Tefilah and by cousin Tulip. In this watercolor done by Amy
Burgess Twoo is on the left; Tyler, Tulip's male calf, is on the right. It
was taken when she was six months old. Twoo was born February 2000. To find

May, 2001: A Baby African Elephant named "swoo" at Amboseli
National Park in Kenya, Africa!
Theresa and I are proud to announce that we have adopted a 16-month old
baby in Africa :-) Isn't he just adorable?! In fact, he seems to have long eyelashes
just like when I was a baby :-)

Hi Swoo,
"Swoo" is the son of Smithie who is the daughter of
Shirley, the matriarch of the SA family. Smithie is 17 years old and this
is her first known calf. "Swoo" was born in January 2000 so he's
16 months old.
I'm sending two photos of Swoo I took in February.
All the best, Cynthia
