Great Wall of China

 

At the beginning of our Great Wall climb	The first Gate
Theresa in front of the First Gate	We could choose which way to go. The choice was obvious. The right-hand (west) was the steeper and more challenging one--Theresa and I took this route.
At the beginning of our ascent	Getting higher
The view was getting better at the first stop	It was getting really crowded. I could use an escalator right about now.
Slowly and surely. Was that Landa making her way up?	Looking through the window of one of the several look-out towers along the way.

Due to the shortness of time and the shortness of our breath :-) we decided to turn around after 45 minutes since we knew the descent will be equally challenging as the steps were pretty high.	On the way down.
Easy does it as we slowly came down
What a great climb. Theresa and I really enjoyed it. We promised that one of these days we will return for a longer  hike on the Great Wall.
