Lama Temple

In the afternoon we went to the Lama Temple.  I was impressed by all the people but was choking a bit due to all the burning incense offering. No matter what religion you personally believe it, you would have been impressed by the devoutness of the people.

Lama Temple, also known as Yonghe Gong (Palace of Eternal Harmony), is a Tibetan Buddhist Lamasary in Beijing.

The most impressive thing about this temple is the 80-feet high Maitreya Buddha made from a single piece of sandalwood. It's in the Guinness Book of World Record. Sorry I don't have a picture since no photography is allowed.

We did more power souvenir shopping at some of the stalls leading to the Lama Temple.

A prayer now and then will always sooth the soul.
