Day 17 1/31/99:
In fact, this is
exactly what I did next morning for Theresa as I filled this cup with Cafe Americano.
Once again
just for fun I baked for church. This was a very simple coffee cake dusted with powder
sugar. It was very popular. In fact, someone took the recipe. The on-line recipe is at ( http://www.joyofbaking.com/GrtCofCake.html
) I also found a couple of luscious chocolate torte recipes that I'm looking forward to
try.
By now you probably
have figured out that it seems that my life revolves around food. Well, we got to eat
sometimes, right? After church we went out with some friends to have one of Theresa's
favorite lunch: Dim Sum. These are two of her favorite desserts: custard buns and custard
cups! Sorry cannot show you the Haw-Gao (shrimp dumplings) and Shu-Mai (pork dumplings) as
we ate them before I can take a picture :-)
Here are some of the
kids of our friends. From left to right: Jason, Megan, and Derrick. Aren't they a fun
bunch :-)
After all that food off we go to Club Sport at Fremont. We decided to play tennis. By
keeping my elbow close to my body (just like golf), I'm doing much better with my
forehand. By having the racquet at the back and in the ready position, my backhand is
under better control as well. Look at my excellent tennis form--but I think I will keep my
day job still :-)
For dinner we went to Grand Taipei in Hayward. We met up with my brother and his
family, my sister, and my cousins.
