12/26/1999 Theresa's Birthday CelebrationTheresa and I had a very pleasant and low-key celebration for her birthday during the day. There was really nothing out of the ordinary. I fixed her breakfast and an eggnog late. Sunkiss and Rondo helped Theresa opening her presents. Rondo was especially happy to help with her leather briefcase because it's made out of beef hide :-) To reward his faithful service, we took him for a walk around Lake Elizabeth. We then had a dim-sum lunch at Furama. Theresa helped me to navigate to San Francisco. We strolled along Sacramento Street and visited a few interesting shops that were open. The most interesting store we visited was Twiga: Fine Ebony Jewelry and Sculpture We had a nice chat with Twiga Mbunda, who is from Tanzania. She has a team of 40 Tanzanian women helping to make art and craft pieces. We were interested to find that
We could not pass up the chance of buying a pair of ebony elephant candle sticks. You know how we feel about elephants! We took a rest and had espresso at a cafe. So far Theresa did not suspect anything! Little did she know what I had in store for her!
