Snowshoeing at Bear Valley
Feb, 2005
|
Theresa and I were fortunate enough to be invited by Stephen to stay at his
parents' cozy and comfortable cabin at Arnold, which is near Bear Valley,
California.
It was great visiting the cabin again. We were very impressed by the modern
kitchen that was just remodeled last year.
After a hearty breakfast we started our hike in the morning under a gloriously
clear, sunny, and warm day.
We thought we were heading toward the car. We hiked. We hiked. We hiked. Then we
ended up at a cliff. Now we knew that we were heading the wrong direction.
Here was Stephen trying to get us back. We made it home safely.
A nice dinner at the Blue Coyote can revive anyone's body and spirits :-)
We even had energy to enjoy a vicious--I mean friendly-- game of Mexican
dominoes.
The next morning we were able to fit another hike in at the Stanislaus National
Forest.
Theresa did a little off-road snowshoeing :-) She has an adventurous streak in
her! |
