National Palace Museum
It's the most treasured museum of Chinese arts
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then I'll let these 100 pictures of
the precious and priceless Chinese artifacts at the National Palace Museum speak
for over five thousand of Chinese history.
This is the largest museum in the world that has the largest holding of
Chinese artifacts consisting of ceramics, Chinese calligraphy, brush painting,
carving, jade, precious jewels, bronze, gold, etc. It's amazing that these
historical artifacts survived thru thousands of years of wars, dynasty changes,
revolutions, and the big moves during World War II and the Communist
Revolution.
Though the museum is vast and can display 15,000 pieces each 3 months;
however, it will take 12 years to display all the items! This is the reason that
each time I visit the museum I get to appreciate some new items.
We took MRT to the Shihlin station and then took a city bus. It was rather
inexpensive and very convenient. We also enjoyed a quick and delicious lunch in
the tea room on the fourth floor by having some steamed buns and cups of hot
teas. Trust me. We needed some refreshments after walking thru the museum.
