Gushan: Drum Hill Characters

Theresa has the largest heart.

One of the most appealing aspects of hiking in Gushan was viewing the Chinese calligraphy carved in the stones along the pathways. The Chinese characters are painted  brightly in fire engine red. There was a single character for heart. Two characters for loyalty and filial piety. My favorite is the four-character saying that describes Theresa perfectly. It can be roughly translated to mean "the happiest and more rewarding activity one can participate is to do charitable deeds." This is very appropriate as in both her professional and private lives she dedicated herself to those who are disadvantaged. Theresa has a big heart!
