Fuzhou Countryside
It was the most idyllic countryside
In order to get to my father's ancestors' graves on the second day we had to
walk for about 20 minutes. It was a nice stroll. This area was definitely not a
place where a regular tourist would come. It was not commercialized.
Refreshingly there was not a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant nor Starbucks in
sight. This area was relatively unspoiled with touristy restaurants and shops.
We even got the chance to talk to a farmer who was thrashing rice. After so many
days of being in Shanghai it was pleasant to enjoy the countryside without
crowds, neon signs, and traffic congestion.
