Cafe Du Monde ( http://www.cafedumonde.com/
) A trip to New Orleans will not be complete without Chicory Cafe Aulait and the
square donuts with lots of powdered sugar called beignet. |
First night we had dinner at Cannon's. |
Cheese-covered potato skin. |
Fried zucchini. |
Fried seafood platter. |
A bottle of Abita root beer was in our convention welcome
package. |
The take-out window at Cafe du Monde. |

I had a nice lunch at La Madeliene (547 Saint Ann Street on
the Jackson Square). I had a potato Galette and chicken friand. |
Inside the La Madeleine. |
Last time Theresa and I were in New Orleans we had dinner
twice at the Olde Nawlin Cookery.
It's still here! |
I don't usually drink during lunch. However, I made an
exception for Cajun Cool-ade. Believe me, this is not your mother's cool-ade!
:-) |
I had a Po Boys, half fried shrimp and half fried oyster. |
Pat O'Brien is a
"happening" place. You just have to have a hurricane to get the
complete New Orleans experience. |

I tell you New Orleans is very civilized, just look at what
I had at the Audubon Zoo. |
Jambalaya is what I ate at the zoo. I don't think they
serve alligator sausage :-) |

It's a pity that we had to say good-bye to New Orleans.
It's only fitting that the last thing we did at New Orleans before taking a
taxi to the airport was having lunch at Royal Cafe in the French Quarter. Theresa had pasta. |
I had a muffaletta sandwich. |
