Mauna Kea Beach: Our Favorite Beach

Located in the northern part of Kohala, Mauna Kea Beach is in front of the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel. This beach is also to the north of Hapuna Beach. This was a great beach. I still remember how fun it was to frolic in the warm ocean waves. Very soothing and relaxing. Besides, I did yoga twice. Okay, Theresa said that I attracted quit a bit of attention, but I did not care about others laughing at me. I had a great time. At least I got less strange stare than the guy who had golden rings attached to bizarre places on his body. :-)

Stephen "Rodney Yee" Woo :-) Every morning I do 20 minutes of morning yoga while watching Rodney Yee's "Living Yoga" DVD.

Theresa enjoyed her quiet time of reading on this 1/4-mile white-sand beach.

Mauna Kea Beach

I took this picture of Theresa from the ocean.

Theresa and I snorkeled. The water was not that clear since we did not want to swim too far out. By the way, the picture of the jelly fish on the Kahaluu page should have been here.

I was a little nervous to be so far off from the beach. In reality the ocean is very shallow.

On Friday evening we strolled along the ocean to the third hole at the Mauna Kea Golf course.

Another golden Kona Sunset! The best part? It's free! :-)

Another round of cocktails at exorbitant prices. However, macadamia nuts were free. We were always amazed at others who did not finish their tray of nuts. What self control!
