Can you imagine that Mike actually let me drive this boat? Though images of Gilligan as in "Gilligan's Island" flashed in my mind, I was fortunate that I steered our boat away from the dangerous surf and reef. Whew. I don't think Intel like me to be lost on a desert island.

Mike and Carol drove us and picked up our boat for the morning.

There was a whole wall of pictures of trophy fish and undersea creatures, such as sharks. Originally I toyed with the idea of going deep fish fishing, but I decided to let MY tuna to get a little fatter. For our next trip I'm looking forward to write a "Big Island, Big Fish" story :-)

Pat was very friendly. He was proudly showing an underwater picture of a shark that he took and is considering make it into the logo for his business.

Theresa in front of our convertible rental Camaro. My first car--brand new--in high school was a Camaro. Theresa and I had fond memories of our car. It's sad to learn that 2001 is the last year that Chevrolet will be making Camaro's.

This is a grass shack that Pat sometimes stayed. How quaint.

Atlantis submarine is another thing that we will be doing. It's a little pricey. So be sure to get the 2-for-1 coupon at Hilo's Hattie :-)

We went as far north as Kailua Bay to search for spinner dolphins. We did not find them here today. However, we did see King Kamehameha the Great's Ahu'ena Heiau, his personal temple that was restored in 1812.

Theresa held on to her hat. I was not so smart. At one point we had to double back to retrieve my hat that was blown into the water. No littering allowed.

Some say that all these yellow fish is one of the reasons that this area is called the Golden Kona Coast.

Nevada helped Theresa out of the water. We were ready for lunch at 10am--remember that we had only cereal for dinner last night! The spicy Thai chicken wrap and Carol's sassy tropical salsa were delicious.

After snorkeling twice, Make tried to look for the spinner dolphins.
